When COVID-19 ground the world to a halt, Souls Without Socks (SWS) founder Natanael Southcott took a leave of absence from his political science studies at the University of Southern California. Seeing the growing homelessness issues in his own community of Bellingham, Washington, Southcott recognized a chance to make a difference for those struggling to find a way to stay warm and dry. With the help and guidance of his mentor, Jeff Gray, Southcott founded SWS in his garage. More than 1,400 socks later, with thanks to Jeff, Nestor Hosiery, and countless volunteers and donors, Southcott invites you to support the efforts of the organization and help provide something simple—socks—to those who need them.
Poor foot health can lead to chronic, and often drastic, reductions in quality of life and health. Socks are the most requested product at homeless shelters everywhere, but especially in cold, wet climates. Souls Without Socks is here to fulfill those needs in our corner of the Pacific Northwest, support existing nonprofits that provide homeless services, and partner with organizations putting on foot clinics for people experiencing homelessness. Every dollar we receive goes toward expanding our organization’s donation footprint.
